Fan-favorite MW2 AR is competitive again in Warzone but it’s being slept-on

Despite its proven effectiveness in Warzone, many players are still overlooking one of Modern Warfare 2’s most popular assault rifles.

Despite initial concerns from players about the performance of weapons from Modern Warfare 2 in the Warzone cycle of Modern Warfare 3, it became evident that the battle royale’s Time to Kill and health changes were not favorable for these older guns.

In the beginning, the MW2 guns were not popular and were overshadowed by newer weapons. However, there has been a shift in recent seasons as the developers have started giving attention to the older weapons. As a result, the MW2 guns have made a comeback and are now a part of the meta.

The Chimera was once a popular sniper support weapon, but it was later nerfed during the Warzone seasons, causing it to become less visible among battle royale players.

Warzone aficionado SallyIsADog has emphasized that it remains a “viable”choice, particularly for those who enjoy playing on Rebirth Island.

  • Muzzle: ZEHMN35 Compensated Flash Hider
  • Barrel: 10′ SA Phoenix
  • Underbarrel: Chewk Angled Grip
  • Optic: Quarters Classic
  • Ammunition: Blackout High Grain

According to the YouTuber’s July 29 video, there are a few aspects that contribute to the gun’s superiority, which many people fail to recognize. One of its greatest strengths is its forgiving nature. The headshot multiplier is not excessively high, and there is only a slight decrease in damage from headshots to the lower torso.

“This indicates that while you may not consistently achieve multiple kills through headshots, you also won’t find yourself in gun battles wondering why you couldn’t eliminate the enemy. This is particularly crucial in a game with consistently unstable servers.”

According to WZRanked stats, the Modern Warfare 2 AR is not receiving much attention from players. Despite its viability, it currently ranks as the 67th most popular gun.

While the visual shake and clutter of MW2 guns may deter some players, the Chimera remains an intriguing option for those who can overlook these factors.
