Since its introduction, the Superi 46 has been the most popular SMG in Warzone. However, after receiving significant nerfs in the July 30 update which decreased its maximum and mid-range damage, there is now a gap at the top of the SMG meta. This presents an opportunity for an iconic MW2 gun to showcase its capabilities.
Despite being out of favor for some time, the VEL 46, also known as the MP7, seems to be making a comeback in the meta due to recent nerfs to the top performing weapon.
The gun boasts a high fire rate, manageable recoil, and impressive damage range, making it an ideal alternative to the Superi. In fact, it was further improved with increased damage and multipliers in the Season 5 update, solidifying its position as a top contender.
By utilizing TrueGameData, it can be seen that the TTK statistics of the VEL 46 are nearly identical to those of the Superi, with the former outperforming the latter at 20 meters and beyond 42 meters.
When utilizing the VEL 46 in Warzone, I discovered it to excel at close to medium distances, making it an ideal substitute. Additionally, the renowned MP7 boasts a larger starting magazine of 40 rounds, a quicker rate of fire, and faster aiming down sights speed, solidifying its position as the top choice for an SMG in Warzone.
The key selling points of the Superi 46 were its strafe, movement speeds, and damage range. Fortunately, the MP7 also boasts similar features, with comparable statistics in terms of mobility and handling.
In his July 31 video, even FaZe Swagg, a well-known YouTuber, highlighted the VEL 46 and compared it to the other weapon following the balance adjustments.
The Superi was referred to as “dog sh*t”by the streamer, who then went on to achieve a 22-kill victory using the VEL. Swagg strongly suggested utilizing the Quartermaster Suppressor, which enhances its effectiveness in medium-range battles.
In addition, he combined the SMG with the STG44 to cover longer-ranged battles. This creates an excellent pairing that enables you to excel in all ranges during gameplay.
The MP7 is particularly well-suited for the smaller Resurgence maps, making it a valuable choice for players with maxed out weapons who are seeking a new SMG to dominate Rebirth Island or Superstore.
