Although Jujutsu Kaisen never officially revealed Nobara’s fate after her supposed death, fans are now divided on whether she may make a comeback in the series.
Nobara’s most recent appearance in Jujutsu Kaisen was during the Shibuya Incident Arc. Despite engaging in a short battle with Mahito, it was believed that she had perished due to the curse. Yet, her body was not shown and her death was not confirmed.
Despite sparking a lot of speculation among fans, her ambiguous death left many believing it was intentional, possibly hinting at Nobara’s potential return in the future. However, there have been no indications of her comeback thus far.
It has been quite some time since her apparent death in Jujutsu Kaisen. Since then, three complete arcs have transpired – the Itadori’s Extermination Arc, Perfect Preparation Arc, and Shinjuku Showdown Arc. As a result, fans are starting to lose hope for her potential survival.
Despite once being a unanimously accepted belief among the fandom, Nobara’s return now has caused a divide. While some fans are still hopeful due to her status as a main character and the belief that the author would not leave such a plot hole unresolved, others argue that it is too late for her to make a comeback.
As the Shinjuku Showdown Arc draws to a close, Jujutsu Kaisen is steadily progressing towards its finale. In the intense confrontation with Sukuna, the majority of the formidable characters have been defeated. The remaining fighters, except for Yuta, are not yet capable of overcoming the most powerful ancient sorcerer.
Even if Nobara were to return at this moment, it would not affect the current situation. She lacked the strength to confront Sukuna and would most likely meet her demise if she attempted to do so. Nevertheless, the author may choose to bring her back for a surprise factor, similar to Todo’s unexpected return in this arc.
As one user on Reddit pointed out, “People kept repeating the same thing about Todo, but just look at where we are now.”Another user also chimed in, “I have no doubt that she’ll appear with an eye patch.”
“The third person expressed a strong desire for her return, as her situation has been left unresolved for an extended period of time. They stated that if she were to be confirmed as deceased or unable to fight, it would be disappointing after such a prolonged wait for an update on her situation.”
However, there are also differing opinions on the matter. One user expressed, “At this stage, there is no benefit in reviving her. The pivotal battle has already concluded, as they have already played their last and most powerful move with Goyuta.”
“According to another person, the reason they doubt Nobara will come back is because she was never praised for her potential like Yuji or Megumi.”
A third person chimed in, stating that in hindsight, it was clear that she had left for good. They believed that the man only said what he did to Yuji in order to not crush his spirit before the crucial battle, especially after witnessing Yuji’s breakdown moments before.
