Some GTA 6 fans are worried that the release of Mafia 4 in 2025 could potentially delay the release of GTA VI to the following year.
Mafia: The Old Country was unveiled at Gamescom and is scheduled for launch in Take-Two’s fiscal year 2026.
Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has consistently stated that GTA 6 is planned for a Fall 2025 release. However, some fans speculate that the release of two open-world games in close proximity could potentially result in a delay for GTA.
After Mafia 4 was announced, discussions on whether or not this would affect their upcoming trip to Vice City began to take place among fans on Reddit.
“I don’t want to cause any concern, but the situation is concerning to me. If Mafia 4 receives a release date before GTA VI, it could potentially hint at when GTA VI will come out. This is troubling because if the release date is in fall 2025…I hate to say it, but GTA VI may face a delay until 2026,”expressed a player.
Many others in the comments also shared the sentiment, expressing their hope that the two games will not have any impact on each other.
Another person chimed in, expressing excitement for both GTA 6 and the potential interruption it may cause to its release date.
“According to a more pessimistic user, it is highly likely that GTA 6 will be delayed. The game must be flawless, as any imperfections will undoubtedly face harsh criticism from the internet. The longer the delay, the more pressure is put on Rockstar, making it a stressful time for all those involved.”
GTA 6 is planned for Fall 2025.
Despite the fact that both games are currently scheduled for release in 2025, many players were amazed and thought that Take-Two would still make a substantial profit.
Despite the anticipation of fans, a second GTA 6 trailer and official gameplay reveal have yet to be released. However, recent leaks suggest that one may be unveiled before the end of the year.
Despite fans having waited for a new Grand Theft Auto for a long time, it is understandable that they would be devastated if a delay was announced.
