The anticipation surrounding Black Ops 6 has sparked significant discussions among fans, particularly regarding a classic game mode that some feel has lost its charm due to emerging issues.
For the vast majority of players, engaging with a Call of Duty title often involves popular modes such as Search and Destroy, Team Deathmatch, Domination, or Control. Yet, there exists a segment of the community passionate about enjoying casual gameplay with friends in alternative modes. The Black Ops franchise has traditionally thrived in offering such experiences.
Black Ops 2 pushed the envelope with its innovative Wager Matches that featured classic modes like Sticks and Stones, One in the Chamber, and Gun Game. Although these beloved modes haven’t resurfaced in Black Ops 6, players have enjoyed the addition of Prop Hunt as a lighthearted party game.
Concerns About Prop Hunt’s Enjoyment
Despite its past popularity, recent weeks have seen an uptick in complaints from players regarding the diminishing enjoyment of Prop Hunt. One Reddit user, Alpha_Omega21, expressed this sentiment, stating that the mode feels “no longer fun.”
The amount of unhittable glitch spots in addition to just weird “balance” mechanics has just made this game mode no longer fun. Finding someone in a glitch spot under the map knowing they’re going to win and having to wait for 3 minutes really doesn’t make a “party game mode” a good time.
Desire for Improvements in Prop Hunt
This feeling of dissatisfaction has been echoed across the player community. One commenter noted, “The movement speed nerf also killed the fun for me. Being able to run around was enjoyable.”
Another player remarked, “Prop Hunt is just not as entertaining as it once was. The maps seem overly expansive, with numerous dimensions that bias the props.” Additionally, another user reflected that “the novelty and charm of Prop Hunt have faded rapidly; after playing just a few rounds, I haven’t felt inclined to return.”
In light of these frustrations, players have suggested various modifications to enhance the mode, including resolving audio issues and adjusting character movement speeds. Some community members have even proposed introducing a rotation of party game modes, alternating between Prop Hunt, Gun Game, and One in the Chamber.
As it stands, the future of Prop Hunt remains uncertain, and players will be eagerly awaiting whether their feedback will be considered for improvements.
