On June 17, SM’s boy group RIIZE made a comeback to the music industry with their first mini-album “RIIZING”and their title track “Boom Boom Bass”.
While fans were highly anticipating this comeback, it ultimately ended up being a disappointment for fans of RIIZE’s Eunseok due to the unjust treatment he received.
Shortly after the comeback, a topic titled “Why is Eunseok given so few lines despite his strong singing abilities?”gained significant traction on the Korean forum Pann.
The author of the topic expresses disappointment, stating that in the MV, Eunseok’s face seems to be quickly skipped over whenever it appears. Despite his strong dance abilities, good looks, and status as the group’s visual, he still doesn’t receive enough singing lines or screen time, even when standing in the center. The author hopes for a change in this aspect.
The author also added, “Despite having similar skills among the other four members, Eunseok constantly receives unfavorable treatment, leaving out Wonbin and Sohee.”
In response to the topic, the majority of individuals seem to concur that SM’s treatment of Eunseok was unjust. The following are a few comments from netizens:
- Each member in the group has their own strengths and roles. Sohee shines as the main vocal, while Wonbin is both the center and second vocalist, which I have no complaints about. However, Eunseok stands out among the remaining four as he consistently receives this special treatment. His vocal abilities are impressive and he is definitely not lacking in any way.
- The same issue occurred in “Impossible”- his appearance and screen time were both disappointing, and his looks were even toned down. It would be great if they could return his original black hair.
- Despite having numerous center parts in “Impossible”and this time as well, he was overshadowed to the point that his nose couldn’t even be seen. Fans have remained quiet about this.
- After watching the MV, I couldn’t help but feel like Eunseok was invisible ㅋㅋㅋ. It’s puzzling to me why SM is not utilizing his talent properly.
- To be completely honest, it’s incredibly frustrating. I was left in such awe after watching the “Impossible”MV that I couldn’t bring myself to watch it a second time.
- In “Boom Boom Bass” , if it weren’t for Eunseok’s center part, I wouldn’t even know he was there lol
