Mingyu is a well-known figure among Kpop fans. Born in 1997, he is highly beloved as a member of SEVENTEEN. His close bond with Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS, is highly respected.

SEVENTEEN’s fans passionately defended their beloved idol, clarifying that the term “pop star”is a broad label for any popular music artist and is not specific to any one person. As highly accomplished and influential Kpop idols, both Jungkook and Mingyu can rightfully be referred to as pop stars. They urged others not to engage in online aggression over such a trivial matter as a title.
Furthermore, Jungkook and Mingyu share a strong friendship. Prior to Jungkook’s enlistment, he frequently accompanied Mingyu on outings and the two even live streamed from Jungkook’s residence. Throughout their careers, they have consistently been each other’s biggest supporters during important milestones.
As a result, the bond between the two major fandoms is damaged due to Mingyu suddenly being attacked by Jungkook’s fans.
