The year 2024 will always be remembered for its groundbreaking movie marketing, with standout hits like Longlegs and Alien: Romulus. However, Jackpot!, the new comedy on Amazon Prime Video featuring John Cena and Awkwafina, did not share the same success.
The action movie was released on August 15 on the streaming service. In order to promote its release, Cena utilized Prime Video’s TikTok to explain the entire plot using the slang and language of Gen Alpha.
It goes without saying that the internet has not reacted positively to the results. In fact, numerous individuals have taken to the internet to criticize Cena for his choice of words, including “beta”, “drip”, and “sigma.”

Despite the video’s slight hint of irony and self-awareness, it fails to prevent the TikTok comments section from being flooded with remarks such as, “John, whatever they’re paying you, it’s not worth it.”

In the alternate future of Jackpot!, the Grand Lottery in California permits individuals to hunt down and murder lottery winners in order to claim their winnings. Cena plays the role of Noel, a Lottery protection agent who assists Katie (Awkwafina), an unsuspecting lottery winner who becomes the next sought-after target.
