Fans speculate about potential betrayal of Homelander by Sister Sage in Season 5 of The Boys

Fans of The Boys believe they have deciphered Sage’s strategy for dealing with Homelander by analyzing some intriguing lines of dialogue.

In Season 4, Homelander and Sage teamed up and he asked her to help him come up with a plan to gain control of the US government.

After some persuasion, she came around and came up with a detailed plan to assist Homelander in reaching his objectives. The pieces truly fell into perfect alignment during The Boys’ Season 4 finale, as she essentially gave him full control over the White House.

Despite Sage’s numerous schemes throughout the season, fans remain convinced that things are not what they appear to be. A specific line of dialogue may offer a clue about the future of a certain superhero in a cape.

Sage’s scheming resulted in Congress invoking the 25th Amendment

During a discussion on season 5 predictions, a user on Reddit put forth their theory that Sage has already hinted at her major plan.

They revealed, “Sage has plans to betray Homelander. She promised he would meet a fate similar to Caesar, but Homelander seems unaware of the consequences.”

According to The Boys fan, Sage’s admission that she only agreed to dismantle the government serves as further evidence that her ultimate goal is to take down Homelander.

Some individuals also expressed a similar sentiment, suggesting that Sage’s statement of “to see if I could”also indicates her covert efforts to defeat Homelander. As one person phrased it, “Why is she attempting to take down Homelander? Because she wants to test her abilities.”

If this theory turns out to be true, it is possible that the Boys have been approaching the situation incorrectly. Sage may hold the solution to defeating Homelander, rather than Ryan, Soldier Boy, or an enhanced Billy Butcher.

Regardless of the outcome, the fifth and final season of The Boys will provide clarity.
