Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 261 unveils Yuta’s strategy to transfer his mind into Gojo’s lifeless body, causing a division among fans regarding Geto’s response.
The latest installment of Jujutsu Kaisen resurrects Gojo in an unexpected way. While he does make a comeback, his body is now inhabited by the brain and soul of Yuta, leaving him unrecognizable.
Following Gojo’s death and Yuta’s near-fatal injury at the hands of Sukuna, the youthful sorcerer utilized Rika to consume Kenjaku and gain possession of his cursed technique. By utilizing Kenjaku’s technique, he successfully transplanted his mind into Gojo’s deceased body, thereby gaining access to his Six Eyes and Limitless abilities.
Despite being the only sorcerer capable of defeating Sukuna, the implementation of this plan requires a significant sacrifice from both Yuta and Gojo. Yuta will have to permanently give up his body and inhabit another person, while Gojo will be treated as a weapon even after his passing.

Yuta’s plan in Chapter 261 is both selfless and inhumane, as it affects not only himself but also Gojo. The treatment of Gojo is shocking and disheartening, leaving fans to ponder how Geto would have responded if he were still alive.
Despite going their separate ways, Gojo and Geto remained close friends from their youth and always looked out for each other. In fact, Geto was one of the rare individuals in Jujutsu Kaisen who saw Gojo as more than just a powerful sorcerer to be exploited for his abilities.
Despite the poignant and heartbreaking nature of their friendship, it suggests that Geto would not have condoned the use of Gojo’s corpse as a weapon. However, his specific dialogue has sparked a different perspective among many fans.
At the conclusion of Gojo’s Past Arc, Geto revealed to Gojo that as a Six Eyes wielder, he possessed the ability to revolutionize the jujutsu society. Geto also expressed that if he had been granted Gojo’s powers, he would have already achieved this feat.
Although some fans believe that Geto saw Gojo as a weapon and wanted to harness his power for his own agenda, others argue that this interpretation is flawed. They point out that Geto actually despised the idea of sorcerers being used as weapons and suggest that his words to Gojo were simply meant to humble the latter’s arrogance.
A user of X expressed their viewpoint on the subject and stated, “If Geto were still alive, he would have been the one to possess Gojo’s body as it aligns with his character.”
According to another user who shares a similar view, the person in question would likely agree and even volunteer to be the one transferred (if possible). This is because, after defeating Sukuna, they would then go on to eliminate all non-sorcerers.
Despite this, there are numerous fans who interpret Geto’s words differently. As one fan points out, “This only serves to demonstrate that Geto viewed Gojo as more than just a weapon, as he never sought out his assistance despite knowing that Gojo was the strongest.”
According to another fan, the basis of Geto’s ideology was to not view sorcerers as mere weapons.
Although there may be different interpretations of Geto’s response to Gojo’s actions, the significance of Geto’s inquiry to Gojo takes on a new significance in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 261. The scheduled release date for the chapter is May 26, 2024.
