Despite its previous tone, The Acolyte takes a darker turn in Episode 5, leaving fans shocked by the events that unfold. While some may have predicted one aspect, others were caught off guard. Spoilers ahead – proceed with caution!
After viewing the first half of The Acolyte, it becomes clear that the show’s main puzzle revolves around the unknown identity of Mae’s Master. In the latest episode, this mystery was finally solved as Qimir was revealed to be her Master, as many had predicted. However, the incredibly grim and intense nature of the episode has left fans in shock.
Qimir expressed his desire to dismantle the Jedi Order and successfully accomplished it by eliminating Jecki and Yord, as well as numerous unnamed Jedi during their journey to Kelnacca’s base on Khofar.
One Star Wars fan took to Twitter, exclaiming, “What just occurred?”They expressed that the latest episode was both exhilarating and heart-wrenching, with some of the darker elements of the franchise. The fan also expressed shock and disbelief, stating, “They really did that?”

A second person also expressed their agreement, stating, “My head hurts. That was some of the best Star Wars I’ve seen in a while! Holy Acolyte nuggets!”
Despite the heartbreaking loss of Jecki, fans were captivated by the abundance of intricate fight scenes in Episode 5. The Acolyte’s most recent installment features a majority of hand-to-hand combat, as the Jedi bravely face off against Qimir in their attempt to take him down.
After watching the fifth episode of The Acolyte, one fan expressed their belief that it featured the finest lightsaber fight choreography since Revenge of the Sith. They were captivated by the incredibly creative moves, distinctive fighting styles that showcased the characters’ personalities, and surprising deaths.
A fourth person praised Manny Jacinto’s performance, specifically highlighting it on Twitter by stating, “Manny Jacinto just gave one of the most outstanding Sith performances in the Star Wars series. I was truly moved by his performance and couldn’t stop shaking!”
Before the events of The Acolyte Episode 5, the fan-favorite theory was that Qimir was Mae’s master. This was made obvious in Episode 4, as he was the only character who could have been wearing the mask.
As Episode 5 nears its conclusion, Qimir calmly reveals his intentions – he desires the ability to wield power as he pleases, and he also seeks an apprentice who will show him unwavering loyalty.
As Sol and Osha depart Khofar, Mae steps in to fill Osha’s position, leaving a wounded Osha behind with Qimir. The question still remains if Qimir will be able to accomplish his ultimate objective: eliminating all the Jedi who have witnessed his true identity.
