The highly anticipated trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has finally been released, offering fans an exciting preview of Marvel’s iconic First Family. Notably, the trailer includes a humorous nod to the acclaimed series The Bear, adding an extra layer of engagement for viewers.
This new trailer appears to effectively address the shortcomings of previous adaptations of the Fantastic Four. Among the highlights is the initial glimpse of Galactus, albeit briefly shown from behind as he looms over the Statue of Liberty, hinting at the cosmic threat poised to challenge our heroes.
Additionally, the teaser showcases a mysterious appearance by John Malkovich, whose role remains unconfirmed at this time. Speculation suggests that he may take on the character of Ivan Kragoff, also known as the Marvel supervillain Red Ghost. Intriguingly, the film subtly hints at the introduction of its potentially most contentious character.
Paying Homage to The Bear in the Trailer
In a delightful moment at the beginning of the trailer, we see Sue Storm hosting a guest at the family’s penthouse in the Baxter Building.H. E.R. B.I. E. is busy preparing dinner, setting up a humorous exchange that recalls Moss-Bachrach’s role in The Bear.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie in The Bear.
Moss-Bachrach, portraying Ben Grimm (also known as the Thing), humorously inspects the sauce, asking how it’s coming along. This innocent question takes on a deeper meaning when you recall his character Richie from The Bear, known for his kitchen escapades. In the first season, Richie’s interactions were filled with hostility, while in the second season, he adopted a more charming demeanor—a trait mirrored in his portrayal of Thing.
As the scene unfolds, Thing tastes the sauce with his rocky finger, praising it enthusiastically, “Okay, is this guy good, or what?”However, adhering to his role’s playful nature, he follows up with a classic critique, “I wanna add a couple of cloves of garlic, not because it’s not delicious. I just wanna add a little bit of zip, okay?” This whimsical banter mirrors the dynamic between the characters in The Bear.
The response from H. E.R. B.I. E.reflects annoyance reminiscent of Carmy from The Bear, albeit this could merely be an interpretation. This engaging exchange transitions the audience into the action-packed sci-fi adventures that follow in the trailer.
