In most games, gold is a widely available resource. In the First Descendant, players can acquire gold for free without having to spend any money. As you play through the game, it will gradually accumulate in your inventory, but there may come a point where you exhaust your supply.
Hence, it is essential to farm gold in the game, particularly when aiming to unlock new weapons and characters and also to save time.
1. What is the Best Way to Farm Gold in The First Descendant?
The most effective methods for obtaining gold in the First Descendant are defeating enemies and finishing Special Operations. It is highly advisable to focus on the Block Kuiper Mining Special Operation in the Sterile Land, as it can be easily completed in the beginning stages of the game.
2. Farming Special Operations
Special Operations typically require players to fight against multiple waves of enemies in order to protect specific structures. By successfully completing these missions, players have the opportunity to earn a maximum of 36,000 gold. Don’t forget that enemies also drop gold throughout the mission, so collecting it can increase your total earnings to as much as 100,000 gold with relative ease.
Each Special Operation wave completed has the potential to reward a significant amount of Gold, with a maximum of 330,000 Gold earned for completing all waves. However, the chances of this occurring are relatively low.
It is highly likely that Wave Eight will yield 150,000 Gold, along with the Gold acquired from the remaining levels, resulting in a total of approximately 700,000. However, completing this wave can be quite difficult. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to collaborate with friends and form a squad to expedite the farming process.
Note: Farming gold can be maximized by playing in HARD MODE and equipping the External Components that boost Gold.
Underneath your Descendant’s chosen reactor type, there is a roster which includes designated spots for External Components. These items can be easily obtained while playing and have the potential to improve your success rate in obtaining both Gold and Kuiper Shards in The First Descendant. It is highly advised to incorporate the use of both the DEF Support Memory and Support Auxiliary Power.
Note: Selling unwanted items, weapons and reactors to Deslin can also yield a good amount of gold.
