Fashion Best and Worst of the Week: Ahn Yu-jin vs. Go Hyun-jung

Despite the fluctuating weather conditions of heat and rain throughout the week, the fashion choices of the stars remained stunning. The most well-dressed celebrity of the week goes to IVE’s Ahn Yu-jin in her gorgeous sky-blue dress, while actress Go Hyun-jung disappointed with her unconventional outfit.

Best – IVE’s Ahn Yu-jin

Kang Nae-ri, Reporter: This ensemble is a refreshing relief from the scorching summer temperatures. The sky-blue tube top dress, ideal for a cool-toned beauty, is complemented by silver jewelry, creating an effortlessly elegant and ethereal appearance.

Reporter Oh Ji-won: The sky-blue dress, silver accessories, and long black hair blend together seamlessly, creating a balanced and cool-toned look. The jewelry, while bold, does not overpower the simple tube top dress, making it the ideal choice for a stylish yet not overly flashy outfit.

Reporter Kim Sung-hyun compares Ahn Yu-jin’s appearance to that of a Disney princess, with her light sky-blue dress adorned with intricate bead detailing resembling stars in a clear early evening sky. Her clear and pure face is the final touch to complete this perfect look.

Choi Bo-ran, Reporter: She resembles a mermaid who has emerged from the ocean. The sky-blue tube top dress adorned with sequins and the shimmering bead necklace evoke a fairytale-like ambiance. Despite her long black hair, her cool-toned skin exudes a refreshing aura, and her radiant smile outshines any accessory.

Good – Lim Ji-yeon

Despite wearing a loose-fit shirt, the addition of a bold belt creates the illusion of a slimmer waist for Kang Nae-ri, Reporter. The use of white and black, paired with a burgundy tote bag, adds dimension to the outfit and prevents it from appearing too simple, resulting in a well-balanced look.

Reporter Oh Ji-won noted that the wide-fit look emphasized her slim figure and the hairstyle that showcased her neck added an elegant touch. She also made a smart fashion choice by accessorizing with a burgundy bag for a stylish pop.

Reporter Kim Sung-hyun: The fashion of Lim Ji-yeon emits the essence of a driven and capable ‘professional’. The asymmetrical blouse with rolled-up sleeves exudes a cool and refined vibe, while the large black and white buckle belt adds a touch of contrast. The deep red bag serves as the perfect finishing touch to complete the impeccable ensemble.

Reporter Choi Bo-ran notes that the overall loose fit of the outfit does not appear bulky. The use of a belt provides a defined focal point without being too overwhelming, while the lack of accessories adds to the chic aesthetic.

So-so – Kep1er’s Choi Yu-jin

Kang Nae-ri, Reporter: It seems a bit excessive. The checkered design of the two-piece outfit is already eye-catching, and the addition of multiple frills only adds to the overwhelming effect. Removing two layers from the skirt would have given it a more cheerful appearance without being too much.

Reporter Oh Ji-won finds it challenging to achieve a refined appearance when incorporating a blue checkered pattern. Additionally, the pairing of a voluminous, lengthy skirt with chunky sneakers is underwhelming.

Reporter Kim Sung-hyun describes the outfit as refreshing and cheery, giving the feeling of being on a picnic and escaping the heat. However, the abundance of check patterns and the layered skirt may be overwhelming, causing a slight sense of dizziness.

Reporter Choi Bo-ran: The combination of frills and check patterns gives the overall appearance a sense of excess. Additionally, the delicate hair and makeup do not seem to complement the chunky sneakers, resulting in a disjointed outfit.

Bad – Lee Jong-suk

Lee Jong Suk

Kang Nae-ri, Reporter: Despite the fact that both pieces are made of denim, the varying shades give off an uncoordinated appearance. The ribbon and accessories on the waist seem misplaced.

According to Reporter Oh Ji-won, pulling off a denim-on-denim look can be difficult and requires precise coordination. One effective approach could be to use different colors of denim for the top and bottom, or to leave some empty spaces. However, it appears that Lee Jong-suk missed all of these styling suggestions and ended up with a denim-on-denim outfit that was not as stylish as intended. Even the addition of a ribbon turned out to be more of a hindrance than a standout feature.

Kim Sung-hyun, the reporter, might be referring to Lee Jong-suk’s outfit as a gift, but the combination of denim-on-denim with a denim ribbon could be a bit overpowering.

Choi Bo-ran, Reporter: The lack of color coordination between the top and bottom takes away from the cohesive look of denim-on-denim fashion. The heavy fabric paired with boots only adds to the overall stuffiness. What’s most unfortunate is that the only memorable aspect is the oversized denim ribbon.

Worst – Go Hyun-jung

Go Hyun-jung

Kang Nae-ri, Reporter: Individually, the top and bottom are both difficult to understand, but when combined, they create even more confusion.

Reporter Oh Ji-won: This fashion choice is certainly daring. The unconventional fit, unusual pattern of the pants, and long coat all give off an awkward appearance.

Kim Sung-hyun, Reporter: While Go Hyun-jung has been receiving praise on social media for her effortless yet elegant appearance, this particular outfit may not meet expectations. The combination of a coat resembling that of a conductor’s and white pants with a leaf pattern seems mismatched.

Choi Bo-ran, Reporter: While I admire her daring fashion choice, I can’t help but wonder about the coordination of her outfit. The long-tailed coat and Aladdin-like leaf-patterned pants leave me with several questions.
