‘Father Of Three Kids’ Choi Min-hwan, I Didn’t Tell My Dad When I Got Divorced

“A pre-release video for the upcoming episode of “The Return of Superman”was revealed, which is set to air on the evening of July 14th.”

In the video, Choi Min-hwan shared, “I aspire to be a father like my own Dad,”opening up about emotions he has never expressed before.

Choi Min-hwan, who got married to former La Boum member Yulhee in his 20s, has three children. Although the couple ended their five-year marriage last year, Choi Min-hwan was granted custody of their three kids, which includes a son and twin daughters.

On that day, Choi Min-hwan and his father Choi Byung-chan met for a drink and had a sincere conversation together.

Despite the initial awkward silence between them, Choi Min-hwan broke the ice and initiated the conversation. He reflected, “Upon the birth of our children, I couldn’t help but think about how my own father must have felt while raising me.”

Choi Min-hwan replied, “The longer I care for the children, the better I comprehend your feelings” . To which his father responded, “Don’t all parents share the same sentiment?” .

During a later interview with the production team, Choi Min-hwan revealed that he did not initially inform his father about his decision to divorce. However, upon hearing the news, his father responded with words of support, saying “You did well. You must have carefully considered your decision. I only want you to live well and I respect your opinion.”This heartfelt response from his father was deeply felt by Choi Min-hwan.

He reiterated, “Just as my father believed, I too believe that I should treat my children with kindness. I hope that when Jaeyul, Arin, and Ahyoon grow up, they will view me as a good father, just as I look up to my own father.”

Choi Ji-woo also added, “I believe that wanting to emulate one’s father and become a great father like him is the ultimate compliment that would bring happiness to any father.”
