FaZe Lacy’s Controversial Statement: Streaming is Harder than Full-Time Jobs

One of the recent additions to FaZe Clan, Lacy, sparked controversy on social media by stating that streaming on Twitch is more challenging than holding a full-time job.

The debate over whether streaming is more challenging than traditional jobs has been ongoing. In 2024, popular Twitch personality Hasan received criticism for expressing this viewpoint, a sentiment shared by fellow content creator Asmongold.

Although the discussion has calmed down since then, in August, FaZe Lacy revived the argument by addressing viewers who believed his streaming job was effortless due to his trips to Japan.

“In my honest opinion, streaming is more challenging than a traditional job. Feel free to laugh or tell me otherwise. Think about it – flying 17 hours to Japan, dealing with jetlag and exhaustion, then having to walk around in the heat and livestream yourself shopping for clothes for 6-8 hours a day. It’s not easy.”

“It’s truly challenging in comparison to a regular job, where you only have to work six hours a day. I mean, most jobs are only 30 hours a week, right?”he commented, seemingly unaware that traditional office jobs consist of eight hour work days.

As you can see, streaming is not an easy task. I have to constantly move around and interact with people in public, trying to outdo them in order to keep the audience engaged. This requires a great deal of social skills, making it a challenging job.

The video of Lacy’s remarks quickly circulated on social media, where viewers wasted no time dissecting and analyzing them.

One person commented, “He is not even familiar with the concept of full-time hours.”

Another person recommended putting this idiot in a full-time 9 to 5 job and seeing how quickly he would give up on the second day.

Surprisingly, both Emiru and ExtraEmily attempted the task. However, after only one shift working at a sandwich shop, the two streamers found themselves complaining about their sore feet.

The post received a lot of attention and even caught the attention of Lacy himself, who responded in defense of his argument.

“He expressed frustration at the quickness with which people come at him, pointing out that they do not understand his perspective as they are not in a similar position of having to shop all day, socialize in the hot sun, and deal with jet lag.”

It is improbable that this debate will come to an end. Although numerous streamers have acknowledged the challenges of streaming, not all hold the same viewpoint.

Adin Ross and xQc ridiculed previous remarks about streaming being more challenging than traditional jobs, deeming it “one of the most foolish statements one could make.”
