The sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison for A (24 years old) on charges of making a false accusation was overturned by the Seoul Central District Court’s Criminal Appeal Division 4-1 on June 18th. Instead, the court decided to sentence A to two years of probation.
As part of her probation, she was required to fulfill 160 hours of community service. Additionally, A, who had been detained during the initial trial, was also released.
The court emphasized that without any concrete evidence, the accused would have been unjustly penalized. Furthermore, the court took into account the defendant’s circumstances, noting that she was a young first-time offender with no prior criminal history. As a result, instead of sentencing her to imprisonment, the court provided her with the chance to redeem herself through community service.
A, a former member of a well-known girl group, transitioned into working as a BJ after ceasing her career as an idol. In January of last year, she faced accusations of fabricating allegations against her agency’s CEO for sexual assault.
The prosecution’s belief was that A had made a false accusation against her agency’s CEO after he denied her request to end his relationship with his girlfriend.
