FF7 Rebirth: How to complete the mission in Nibelheim

The mission in Nibelheim is part of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo, so if you’ve already completed it, here’s how you can skip it when you play the full game.

The mission to Nibelheim from Final Fantasy 7 is iconic and notorious because it’s when Sephiroth suffers a psychotic breakdown that leads him to destroy Cloud and Tifa’s beloved hometown, including the innocent people who reside there. It was a highlight in the original FF7 and fans were able to experience it before the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth thanks to the game’s free demo.

However, if you have already done this entire mission and own the full game of FF7 Rebirth, then you have the convenient option of skipping it.

Although you can replay it, there is no benefit to doing so unless you didn’t have a chance to complete it during the demo.

So find out how you can skip the mission in Nibelheim in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

How to pass the Nibelheim quest in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

If you have already played and completed the quest in Nibelheim in the FF7 Rebirth demo, then the game will allow you to skip the majority of it. Here’s what you need to do:

First, you’ll need to scan your PS5 hard drive so the game can see that you’ve already completed it. This can be done in the main menu under ‘ Bonuses ‘. Complete the scan and you will receive a pop-up message informing you that the mission can now be completed.

You’ll then begin the game as usual, first playing through Zack’s opening segment before the action shifts to the inn in Kalm where Cloud is telling the Nibelheim team. You’ll still need to defend the truck as Sephiroth and then explore Nibelheim as Cloud, but once you’ve completed all of these tutorial segments, you’ll have the option to skip the mission.

This jump option will appear once you climb the mountain with Tifa and kill the first enemies. However, it only skips the Nibelheim reactor mission, so you’ll still have to replay Sephiroth’s attack on the city, but that’s mostly because the demo ended right in the middle of his confrontation with Cloud.

The good news is that the skip option eliminates the majority of the flashback, meaning it will only take you around ten minutes to get through it in the full game instead of around 90.
