The Final Fantasy XIV developers have revealed the introduction of a new difficulty level for Alliance Raids for the first time in patch 7.1.
Final Fantasy XIV offers a vast array of activities for its players. Whether you aspire to become the greatest fisher in all of Eorzea, customize your Warrior of Light, or take on the most formidable foes in the realm, this MMORPG has something for every player.
These activities come in varying degrees of difficulty. Some are notably challenging and time-consuming, while others allow for a more relaxed approach, enabling you to achieve objectives at your own speed.
The alliance raid is a distinct raiding format in Final Fantasy XIV, requiring 24 players to collaborate in three separate teams of eight to complete the raid. Although this format has remained consistent for quite a while, the developers are introducing a new challenge that aims to change the way players engage.

The Chaotic Alliance Raid was unveiled during the 83rd live letter. These raids will maintain the player count but will offer a new degree of difficulty that resembles extreme trials.
This marks the first instance where developers have introduced an increased difficulty setting for alliance raids. Typically, alliance raids can be completed with minimal coordination among players, as most participants are familiar with the mechanics and how to navigate them.
Nevertheless, the Chaotic Alliance Raids will require players to be more skilled, as mistakes in mechanics can lead to total raid wipes for the entire group. The first boss to challenge players in this raid will be the Cloud of Darkness, equipped with new tricks and puzzles for the large player group.
Moreover, the development team has hinted at this new raid by retweeting the official announcement, stating, “I will bring you the true chaos! Plz look forward to it!”
