Fifth-Gen Male Idol Draws Attention For Adorable Interaction With NewJeans

A male idol from the fifth generation is gaining notice for his interactions with NewJeans.

The most recent episode of “Music Bank”aired on May 24, 2024. On the show, NewJeans made an appearance to promote their latest release, “How Sweet,”which had just been released on the same day. The song was made public at 3 PM, so it had only been a short while since its release.

During the latest broadcast of “Music Bank,”ZEROBASEONE member Zhang Hao served as the Special MC. Fans were thrilled to see Zhang Hao as the MC, as he is known for being a dedicated K-pop fan. In fact, a video from January 2024 of Zhang Hao dancing to “Baddie”at an award show went viral, showcasing his enthusiasm for K-pop and girl groups.

In his role as Special MC, Zhang Hao engaged with multiple groups. He captivated audiences with his performance of the dance break from “Supernova”alongside aespa, and even elicited laughter from the members when his glasses accidentally fell off during the dance.

Nevertheless, it was his interaction with NewJeans that garnered the most attention.

During the interview segment with NewJeans, their song’s chorus was played and the members showcased the choreography for “How Sweet.”However, it was Zhang Hao who caught the audience’s attention. Despite standing next to them, the male idol surprised fans by flawlessly executing the dance moves alongside NewJeans!

Despite being released just hours before the airing, Zhang Hao’s quick mastery of the choreography has left many astonished. Some even playfully commented on his dedication to being a Bunnie (NewJeans fan).

Some were amazed by Zhang Hao’s lack of hesitation in dancing a girl group choreography, appreciating how he did not attempt to alter the dance to appear more masculine.

On the same day, ZEROBASEONE won their third music show trophy for their song “Feel the POP”on “Music Bank”. They were in competition with aespa’s “Supernova”for the win. In the end, ZEROBASEONE claimed first place with a total of 13,101 points, while aespa secured second place with 4,569 points.
