Fight breaks out at Garfield screening and everyone’s making the same joke

It may not have been expected to witness a brawl at a screening of a Garfield movie in 2024, but that is exactly what occurred and now everyone is making the same joke.

Garfield, the famously slothful and lasagna-devouring orange cat, is set to receive the star treatment in a brand new animated film. Chris Pratt has been cast to lend his voice to the titular character.

Despite being geared towards families, an advance showing of The Garfield Movie in León, Spain ended in a violent altercation between two audience members.

In the video, a man can be observed strolling down the aisle of the theater while two individuals attempt to calm him down. Another man then approaches and gestures angrily in front of the screen. The two men confront each other before the first man begins to attack the second, and other attendees eventually intervene to separate them. Towards the end, the first man can be seen conversing with other movie-goers.

It didn’t take long for the video to go viral and for people to start joking about Garfield’s favorite and least favorite things: lasagna and Mondays.

“One person joked that someone must have forgotten to eat their lasagna, while another person commented that it must have been a Monday. A third person added that someone must have already eaten all of the lasagna.”

Many were curious as to why the Garfield fight had occurred, as one person asked, “How did Garfield manage to incite such strong reactions? We would like more information.”

Despite the clip circulating, it has been revealed that the man in the white shirt is Spanish boxer Antonio Barrul. He has taken responsibility for the incident and expressed remorse, providing an explanation of what truly occurred on that day.

During an interview with Radioestadio Noche, Barrul revealed that he had attended a showing of The Garfield Movie with his wife and son. He noticed a man behaving aggressively towards his partner and even yelling at her when she moved away from him.

Upon witnessing the situation, Barrul promptly stood from his seat and intervened, instructing the man to cease his actions. “As he continued to threaten me, the situation escalated and I ultimately felt compelled to step in,”Barrul recounted. “I was unable to contain my emotions, leading to the events captured in the video.”

“I publicly apologized in the cinema because those images do not depict the person I strive to be. However, I firmly believe that violence against women is never acceptable,”he stated. He also reassured that the behavior portrayed in the video is not a reflection of his true character.

The highly anticipated Garfield Movie is set to premiere in theaters on May 24, 2024. To stay updated on upcoming releases, be sure to also explore the other movies coming out this month and new films arriving on streaming platforms.
