Meteorite is one of the crucial crafting materials you will encounter in Final Fantasy 16. Although it’s essential for early game progression, acquiring it can be quite a challenge, whether you are farming or saving up currency for purchases. The need for Meteorite increases significantly as you upgrade your higher-quality gear, making it vital to gather as much as possible. This guide will detail the primary methods for obtaining this valuable resource.
Where to Find Meteorite in Final Fantasy XVI
At the beginning of your Final Fantasy XVI journey, finding Meteorite can be quite limited. However, as you progress approximately four hours into the main storyline, it becomes more accessible. You can obtain Meteorite in three primary ways:
- Boss and mini-boss rewards. Most bosses encountered during the early stages of Final Fantasy 16 yield at least one unit of Meteorite, with the potential to earn two units as you advance. Note that many early side-quests do not involve boss confrontations, so you will mainly acquire Meteorite from story campaign battles.
- Treasure chests around the world. When you need additional Meteorite beyond what is obtained from bosses, search for treasure chests in both story areas and open-world environments. These chests often contain single units of the material.
- Purchasing from vendors for 1,000 Gil. Vendors will start selling Meteorite once you reach the stage where you require it for upgrades. You can buy up to 99 units at a cost of 1,000 Gil each, but keep in mind that your inventory will cap out afterwards.
During my playtime of around fifteen hours, I successfully gathered roughly 20 Meteorites without actively farming; defeating bosses and opening chests provided ample resources.
As I delved into side quests and exploration, my need for Meteorite increased since the number of upgrades available started diminishing. Consequently, enhancing my existing gear became essential. Your experience may vary, as each player navigates Final Fantasy 16 uniquely.
