The race for the first tier of the Arcadion in Final Fantasy XIV ended in a tight finish, with the winning team defeating the final boss by mere seconds before their rivals.
The eagerly anticipated savage raids have been unleashed in Final Fantasy XIV. The recent release of Patch 7.05 has brought forth a new level of difficulty for the initial four battles in the Arcadion. This means that the Warriors of Light will now confront formidable opponents such as Black Cat, Honey B. Lovely, Brute Bomber, and Wicked Thunder.
As is customary with new content, a competition ensued to determine who could finish all the fights first. Numerous teams participating in the competition were live streaming on Twitch, and the Mogtalk channel hosted a show for viewers to follow along with the race.
The race was truly intense, with a thrilling photo finish that resulted in raid team Grind defeating Wicked Thunder by mere seconds, with competitor Serenity just behind.
The host of Mogtalk, Frosty, declared that Grind had achieved the world first title with an Eorzean time of 3:14, while Serenity followed closely behind with an Eorzean time of 3:21.
In Eorzea, one minute is equivalent to approximately three seconds in real life, resulting in a total of only 21 seconds between first and second place. With each battle lasting approximately 10 minutes, it is evident that the two teams were evenly matched.
Unfortunately, neither of these two teams was streaming their point of view, denying us the opportunity to witness their enthusiastic reactions to their successful clears.
As stated on the MogTalk website, many teams were able to clear the entire raid tier within 9-10 hours of the servers being back online. This is a common occurrence for the first tier of a new raid series, as it is typically the easiest in the expansion.
In just under nine hours, Grind successfully completed all four fights, a remarkable feat that has earned high praise from the Final Fantasy XIV community.
