First Look at the Second Season of the Ron Kamonohashi Anime: Visual and Trailer

Get ready, Anime Fans, because your beloved eccentric detective will be back for another season. The highly-anticipated second season of Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions is set to premiere in October 2024. On July 19, 2024, the anime’s official account unveiled a teaser visual and promotional video.

The anime is adapted from the Japanese manga series by Akira Amano, which first began serialization in October 2020 in Shōnen Jump+. Currently, there are 14 volumes in circulation. The first season of the anime aired from October 2, 2023 to December 25, 2023, with the announcement of a second season being made in the finale.

The official X account of the anime released the highly-anticipated grand visual for the second season on Friday, showcasing the main characters including Ron Kamonohashi and Totomaru Isshiki. Additionally, other important characters such as Amamiya, Spitz Feier, Omito Kawasemi, Chicory Monki, and Mofu Usaki were also subtly featured in the background.

The official X account and KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel have both posted the trailer for the upcoming season. The brief preview begins with a glimpse of the finale of the previous season, showing the first and fourth sons of the Moriarty family strategizing their next move, which includes Ron.

Next, the story brings us back to Ron and Totomaru as they continue their investigation into the enigmatic murder in the Shibuya ward.

The trailer also announced that the anime’s second season will feature the return of all the original voice cast and staff.

Plot for the Upcoming Season

In the finale of Season 1, Ron receives a mysterious message from the Principle of Blue which reveals the truth about the House of M’s role in the ‘Bloody Field Trip’ murders that occurred five years ago. Fueled by this new information, Ron is determined to expose the House of M and clear his name. In the previous episode, we catch a glimpse of Milo Moriarty, the eldest son of the notorious Moriarty family. He orders his fourth brother, Winter Moriarty, to handle Ron’s situation.

The second season will probably continue from chapter 21 of the manga, where Ron and Totomaru become involved in a fresh murder investigation involving a member of a hacking group. The victim’s body is found with a cryptic code on their neck, leading Ron to believe that the next murder will be committed by someone from M.’s family. Despite solving the clue and making it to the Scramble Crossing, Ron is unable to prevent the third murder from occurring. In their attempt to save the next victim, Ron and Totomaru finally encounter their nemesis, Winter.
