Having completed countless monster hunts, endured life in an alien-infested world, and managed to keep your sanity intact as a meta-human, it’s now time to kick back and enjoy yourself. Fishing is an ideal activity for both unwinding and gathering sustenance for survival.
In Once Human, players are not limited by the constraints of storytelling or time that are present in most games when it comes to fishing. The experience is simple, with a variety of islands and bodies of water available for fishing at any time. However, there are important factors to consider in order to fully enjoy and optimize your fishing experience.
1. How to Catch Fish in Once Human?
To fish in Once Human, players must have a fishing rod and bait. These items can be obtained by crafting. Once obtained, players should equip the fishing rod in the Hotbar and select a suitable fishing spot before attaching the bait and beginning to fish.
The Supplies Workbench offers the ability to craft a Fishing Rod in exchange for basic materials such as 20 woods and 10 copper ingots. The crafting process takes less than a minute to complete.
At the Supplies Workbench, you have the option to craft Fishing Bait. One of the available baits is Dough Fish Bait, which can be created using Corn. If you do not have any Corn, you can visit Meyer’s Market, located south of Deadsville, where you will find an abundance of Corn. Alternatively, you can purchase baits from Margerie, who can be found outside Meyer’s Market at coordinates (5715 -6641).
Basics of Fishing in Once Human
Once you have acquired a fishing rod and some bait, it is time to familiarize yourself with the fundamentals of fishing. Simply follow the steps outlined below for a clear understanding.
- Find a good fishing hotspot. Red Sands, Chalk Peak, Mayer’s Market, and Broken Delta are good fishing hotspots.
Note: Mayer’s Market is highly recommended as you can get items related to fishing near the location.
- Navigate to your inventory and move the Fishing Rod into your Hotbar. Then, press R to access the bait menu and select the desired bait.
- Hold the LEFT mouse button. You can see a green circle moving on the surface of the water. Adjust it however you like, but cast it close enough to see the fish.
- Once the middle circle turns blue, hold the LEFT mouse button again to bring in the fish.
- To reel in the fish, simply hold down the left mouse button and pull the mouse in the opposite direction of its movement.
Well done, you have successfully caught your first fish.
