Flower and Asura Anime Announced for 2025 with a Visual

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Studio Bind announced the production of the highly anticipated anime Flower and Asura through the launch of a new website and X (formerly Twitter) account. The release date for the anime was confirmed to be in 2025, and the official website has already unveiled the main cast and staff as well as a teaser visual for fans to enjoy.

The manga Euphonium, written by Ayano Takeda and illustrated by Musshu, has been serialized in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine since June 2021. So far, 6 tankobon volumes have been published.

Confirmation of Studio Bind’s Flower and Asura anime adaptation premiere in 2025

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, a website and X account were created to announce that Flower and Asura, a manga series by Ayano Takada, will be adapted into an anime in 2025. The production of this show will be handled by Studio Bind, known for their work on the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime.

In addition to the announcement of the adaptation, the official staff has also released a teaser visual for the upcoming Flower and Asura anime. The visual showcases the main characters, Hana Haruyama and Mizuki Usurai, joyfully sprinting along a beautiful coastal road as cherry blossoms gently descend around them.

Interestingly, the visual of Hana and Mizuki shows them dressed in their school uniform, with a Japanese catchphrase that translates to the following in English.

“I was attracted to that voice.”

The main cast’s voice actors have also been announced. Minori Fujidera, a newcomer in the industry, has been cast as Hana Haruyama, and Miyuri Shimabukuro will be voicing the character of Mizuki Usurai. The voice actors have shared their thoughts on the anime’s website and X account.

Minori-san expresses her honor in being a part of the franchise, mentioning her current status as a high school student and how it allows her to understand and connect with the various elements present in the original work.

Similarly, Miyuri-san has praised the script’s realistic nature. She is eager to confront her past, trusting that it will serve as a catalyst for her growth as a voice actress in this series. Both voice actors are excited to portray their characters in the Flower and Asura anime.

Musshu, the illustrator for the original manga series, has created a celebratory illustration to mark the adaptation. The artwork depicts Hana and Mizuki smiling together, surrounded by cherry blossoms, as a testament to the occasion.

Musshu-san has shared a comment expressing his anticipation for experiencing a new world through the anime. Likewise, Ayano Takeda, the author of the original manga, has also commented on the anime adaptation.

The creator of The Sound! Euphonium acknowledges the challenge of portraying a broadcasting club in manga form and anticipates the voice actors’ performances in the anime adaptation.

Flower and Asura Anime Staff and Plot

The Flower and Asura anime, produced by Studio Bind, is being led by Ayumu Uwano, who previously served as the episode director for both the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2 and Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy anime. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu has been appointed as the script supervisor, and the character designs are being created by Kou Aine.

The plot of the anime is derived from Ayano-san’s manga series and takes place on a small island known as Tonakishima, with a population of merely 600 residents. It centers around Hana, a high school student who has a strong passion for recitals and regularly hosts reading sessions for the local children.

Mizuki Usurai, as the president of the Broadcasting Club, notices Hana’s ability to captivate audiences with her reading skills. Impressed by this, she extends an invitation for Hana to join the club, to which Hana agrees. The slice-of-life anime delves into Hana’s journey as a broadcaster.
