FNS Discusses Retirement Plans Amid Mass Exodus of VCT’s Top Valorant Players

Longtime Valorant player and former Counter-Strike professional FNS has announced on his stream that he plans to retire after 2025, which he anticipates will be his final season in the VCT.

The Canadian Valorant star mentioned on his Twitch stream on September 25 that it is “very likely” he will not compete in 2026, reasoning that it no longer makes sense for him or for teams to pursue him.

“There’s so much talent in North America now, actually the world, that it would be cool to see other people also get the spot and get a chance to play; there’s just no point. And for me, I want to do other things,” FNS expressed.

The esports veteran indicated he desires to venture into areas outside of competitive play since he has been focused on this career “all the way from my twenties into my thirties.”

FNS has been competing professionally in esports since he was 20 years old in 2012, transitioning to Valorant in 2020 after his career in various North American CS:GO teams. Now at 32 years old, he stands as one of the oldest competitors in the VCT leagues.

He explained his determination to “go hard” this year and give it all his effort before retiring. The veteran has already secured a major tournament victory in Valorant, having won Masters Reykjavík, alongside numerous appearances on the international stage of the esport.

FNS’ announcement aligns with a growing trend of prominent Valorant players exiting the competitive scene. While TenZ and Sacy shocked the VCT community with their unexpected retirement announcements, FNS is proactively sharing his plans with fans well ahead of his final season.

Whether he will adhere to his retirement plan remains to be seen, although he sounds confident about his desire to explore options outside of competitive gaming. FNS is not primarily known for his mechanical skills but is widely recognized for his tactical acumen, which could still be advantageous for some teams beyond 2025.

FNS has significantly increased his social media following following his transition and success in Valorant. He may choose to become a content creator similar to TenZ in his post-competition era or possibly remain within esports as a coach or general manager.

Regardless, FNS fans should closely follow his 2025 campaign, as it is poised to be his final appearance on the competitive stage.
