<p>Football Manager 25 is set to introduce significant updates to the FM franchise, packed with new features that will invigorate the series upon its release. Here’s a comprehensive overview of what we know about the forthcoming title, including its release date, new additions, and more.
Football Manager serves as the ultimate escape for football enthusiasts, allowing players to guide their non-league teams through the divisions and eventually to the Champions League—a unique experience that few video games can replicate.
Players can easily invest hundreds of hours into a save, regardless of their casual gaming habits, and FM25 seems poised to provide the same immersive experience.
Here are the essential details.
FM25 Release Date
Football Manager 25 is set to launch on November 26, 2024.
Traditionally, FM titles release in early November, but this year’s launch has been adjusted. A September development update indicated that “the FM25 development cycle has been challenging for the entire team.”One major reason for this change is the transition to a Unity engine instead of the previous proprietary engine.

Platforms
Football Manager 25 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC/Mac, Mobile (via Netflix), and Nintendo Switch (with FM Touch).
Moreover, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have access to FM25 on Day One through the service.
It’s important to note that the game experience may vary across different platforms. For instance, players on PC/Mac can load an unlimited number of nations, while FM25 Console is limited to 10 nations, and both FM25 Touch and Mobile can accommodate only up to 5.
New & Removed Features
One of the standout additions in FM25 is the inclusion of women’s football. Although specific details regarding the leagues included are still forthcoming, it has been officially confirmed.
This engine overhaul will introduce new animations, an updated matchday experience, and more, making FM25 visually distinct from its predecessors.
Football Manager 25 is set to look significantly different from prior iterations.
However, with these fresh features, some elements have been removed.
Notably, player weight will no longer be a data point displayed in the game. According to Sports Interactive’s Miles Jacobson, “As we developed our Women’s Football database, we found that while male athletes’ weight might change slightly from month to month, women’s weights can fluctuate considerably—often on a weekly basis.”
“This insight led us to reevaluate various aspects of the game, and ultimately we decided to exclude weight data for all players in FM25.”
Additionally, FM25 will not permit players to take on international management roles. Jacobson stated that this feature would fail to meet quality expectations if implemented, and only 6% of players engage with international management.
There is still plenty more to unveil about Football Manager 25, which may include additional new features.
