Nishino Miki, a former member of AKB48, has once again surprised netizens by revealing her pregnancy. Alongside her 56-year-old husband, comedian Keiichi Yamamoto, the 25-year-old made the announcement in a video titled “The Yamato Family will/is grow[ing]”on May 21.
During the video, the couple can be observed exchanging laughter and savoring each other’s presence. At a certain moment, Nishino teasingly remarks, “Please don’t copy me,”while Yamamoto imitates her gestures.
The video, which also shared their experiences during Japan’s “Golden Week,”ultimately disclosed the true intention: Nishino is expecting a baby.
The couple reported that they are in good health and their baby is expected to arrive in October.
Despite the couple’s marriage being announced in 2022, they continue to face strong disapproval two years later due to their 31-year age difference.
One netizen commented, “What a horrible way to start my morning…”reflecting the general sentiment of discomfort with the significant age gap.
Despite Nishino’s young age in comparison to her significantly older husband, there is a general unease regarding their relationship dynamics.

Despite the joyous announcement, the ongoing debate about their relationship lingers. The couple’s notable age difference remains a source of debate among online users, taking away from the thrill of their expanding family.
However, AKB48’s recent debut on Weverse, a platform created by South Korea’s HYBE Corporation, has caused a divide among Korean fans. While some express surprise and doubt over the decision, others show their encouragement, highlighting the international reach of Weverse.
The dispute has also sparked discussions regarding the platform’s objectives and HYBE’s motivations. AKB48, renowned for their distinctive “idols you can meet”concept, is set to become a part of Weverse on April 27, coinciding with the launch of their 61st single.
