Former AOA Member ChoA Opens Up About Feeling Lost in Life

A video was released on Sung Si-kyung’s YouTube channel on May 7, showcasing a meeting between the singer and former AOA member ChoA at a restaurant in Seongsu-dong.

When inquired about her present circumstances, ChoA responded simply by saying that she was “just living”.

Sung Si-kyung inquired about ChoA’s recent activities, to which she replied, “I have been diligently preparing for my album and also managing my YouTube channel. I realized that I hadn’t given enough attention to my previous albums, so I am putting in extra effort this time. I also started enjoying a drink while listening to music, and it reminds me of my younger days. I am determined to fully prepare for this album.”

ChoA expressed her ongoing struggle, stating, “Recently, I have been feeling quite low. Despite my return, I have yet to find a stable role for myself. It’s not as though I plan to pursue acting after my time as an idol. I have been uncertain about my future and what path to take. However, amidst my sadness and loneliness, I have found comfort in music. This is why I aspire to be a singer – to receive recognition, support, and love from others.”

When asked about her motivation, ChoA, who is eager to delve into writing and composing, shared, “I typically write lyrics and compose over type beats. I’ve come to realize that it’s incredibly compelling for an artist to convey their own personal narrative through their lyrics.”

Ultimately, ChoA, who served as the main vocalist for AOA, shared her concern, stating, “It doesn’t feel right to simply label an idol’s main vocalist as an artist. As I continue to age, it becomes more challenging for me to handle group performances on my own. How should I address this issue?”

Sung Si-kyung suggested, “In order to find the answer, it is important to release songs quickly.”
