Despite officially departing from her current agency, former GFRIEND member and actress Sowon received seemingly unaffected reactions from fans.
On August 8, OUI Entertainment issued an official statement confirming Sowon’s exit from the company. After completing her nearly two-year tenure with the agency, the idol-actress chose to part ways amicably with the agency.
OUI Entertainment expressed gratitude to Sowon for her dedication while under the agency, as well as to the fans for their unwavering support throughout her career. The agency also humbly requested for continued support from fans as Sowon embarks on new ventures in the future.

“Hello. This is OUI Entertainment.
First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to fans who have unconditionally supported and loved our artist Kim Sowon. After a lengthy in-depth discussion with Sowon about her activities in the future, we have decided to mutually conclude her exclusive contract.
We want to thank Kim Sowon for her hard work under the agency, alongside the fans who have accompanied her throughout her journey. We kindly ask for your unwavering anticipation and support for Kim Sowon, who will be continuing her activities in various fields.
Thank you.”
Despite frustration with OUI Entertainment for their lack of information on Sowon, fans reacted playfully to the announcement on social media.

Before becoming a member of OUI Entertainment, Sowon was formerly under contract with IOK Company, using the stage name Kim So Jung. However, in September 2022, Sowon formally departed from IOK Company.
On November 15, 2022, Sowon officially joined OUI Entertainment by signing an exclusive contract. She adopted her actress name Kim Sowon upon joining, symbolizing a fresh start in her acting career.
Upon Sowon’s addition to the agency, Wi Myung Hee, president of OUI Entertainment, conveyed her excitement and enthusiasm.
