Jesse Lingard, a former player for Manchester United, is currently facing a police investigation in Seoul for allegedly riding an electric scooter without a proper license. The 30-year-old midfield star now plays for K League 1’s FC Seoul, and the inquiry stems from an incident on the night of September 16. Reports from YTN indicate that Jesse Lingard was spotted operating the scooter at roughly 10:20 PM in Apgujeong-dong, Seoul, despite not having a valid license.

This situation has garnered considerable attention given Lingard’s previous legal issues in the UK. About a year ago, he faced financial penalties amounting to around 100 million KRW (approximately $75,457) due to offenses related to drunk driving and speeding. Consequently, Jesse Lingard received an 18-month driving suspension, which is still in effect, leaving him without a legitimate driving license.

Initially, Lingard had shared photos of himself on the electric scooter across his social media platforms; however, these posts were removed after news of the investigation broke. The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul has launched a preliminary inquiry into the case and confirmed that Jesse Lingard was not wearing any safety gear during the incident. Authorities are also investigating whether alcohol consumption played a role in the matter.

In a related context, another well-known figure, Suga from BTS, has also faced controversy regarding his driving behavior. Recently, he was reported for reckless driving, which has led to heightened scrutiny of his actions. This ongoing situation has amplified the conversation around the responsibilities and legal obligations of celebrities, underscoring the necessity of adhering to traffic laws and prioritizing safety.

Both of these incidents highlight persistent issues surrounding celebrity conduct and the importance of accountability, particularly in relation to compliance with legal regulations and ensuring public safety.
