Kyulkyung, a former member of PRISTIN and I.O.I, also known as Zhou Jieqiong, has received mixed reactions for her dance cover of aespa’s “Supernova.”
On June 1, 2024, Kyulkyung surprised her fans by sharing a short video of her covering the choreography of aespa’s “Supernova.”Anticipation was high as it had been a while since fans had seen Kyulkyung return to her idol roots, and they were not disappointed.

Despite this, the reaction was not what was expected. Instead, Kyulkyung faced criticism for her cover.
Despite some claiming that her clumsy moves were to be expected after not having danced in a while, the majority expressed their disappointment with her facial expressions.
Despite dancing, Kyulkyung maintained a stiff and expressionless face. This is in stark contrast to her time in PRISTIN and I.O.I, where she was highly praised for her charisma and commanding stage presence. Many find it difficult to believe that she has debuted as a K-pop idol twice.

In 2016, Kyulkyung gained public recognition when she appeared on Mnet’s “Produce 101″as a trainee under PLEDIS Entertainment. She achieved sixth place on the show and subsequently made her debut with I.O.I, propelling her to fame.
After I.O.I disbanded, she made her second debut with PRIISTIN in 2017. Despite being well-received, the group disbanded after two years for reasons that remain unknown. Following their disbandment, Kyulkyung returned to China and focused on furthering her career there.
Currently, Kyulkyung remains active as an actress in China and has not made any appearances on Korean programs since 2019. Even during the fifth anniversary reunion of I.O.I, she was unable to attend in person due to her busy schedule in China, but she did manage to make an appearance via video call.
