Former UFC Champion Calls for Jake Paul to End Outrageous Bouts Against MMA Fighters

Jake Paul has received a plea from a former UFC champion to cease his practice of facing MMA fighters in boxing matches, as the ex-champion is fed up with the “insane”fights following Paul’s victory over Mike Perry.

Ever since entering the world of boxing, Jake Paul has faced numerous former MMA fighters who are transitioning to a different sport.

Jake’s recent victory against ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry has been added to his boxing record, with the former YouTuber-turned-boxer achieving a sixth-round TKO against the ex-UFC champion. Despite his upcoming fight with ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson being rescheduled for November, other fighters have expressed their interest in facing Jake in the meantime.

Despite being a social media star, there have been calls for him to refrain from competing against MMA fighters in his future fights. Aljamain ‘Funk Master’ Sterling, a former UFC champion, has advised him to concentrate solely on boxing and strive for championship titles in that discipline.

In his July 22 YouTube video, the former UFC Bantamweight champion expressed that Paul has shown his boxing skills and continues to improve with each fight. However, he also requested to see him compete against opponents of similar size and reach to avoid one-sided and unfair matchups that are often seen as a spectacle.

The timestamp is at 0:40.

“Additionally, Sterling raised the question of whether Jake is responsible for accepting these fights or if his opponents are at fault. “I firmly believe that people need to recognize his athleticism and skill. He’s constantly improving, and his youth and size give him an advantage!”he added.

“I strongly advise against continuing to participate in these reckless fights. It is similar to me attempting to compete, but I would never agree to a boxing match. If I were to consider any form of combat, it would have to be MMA.”

As previously mentioned, the ‘Problem Child’ is scheduled to face Mike Tyson in November. However, the WBA has also suggested a potential championship match between him and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
