Former viral Netflix star is running for president — again

It has been four years since his documentary was broadcasted, however, a former popular Netflix personality has once again turned his attention towards the White House.

Despite the controversy surrounding him, Joe Exotic, the star of the popular 2020 Netflix series Tiger King, has declared his intentions to run for president for a second time.

In his most recent TikTok video, the celebrity revealed his plans for the 2024 election, declaring: “I may be broke and inexperienced in politics, but I promise to always listen to the voices of the people.”

I listen to the individuals who are paying the salaries of all of you, not the wealthy or corporate America.

His campaign also includes the hashtags #JoeExotic2024 and #FixThisSh*t, accompanied by the slogan “Write in Joe Exotic. President of the United States of America 2024. For all of the people.”

On March 13, 2023, Exotic initially declared his intention to run for the Libertarian Party presidential nomination in the 2024 election, even though he will be in prison during the campaign.

In the world of Tiger King, it’s well-known that this is not Exotic’s debut in the presidential race. He previously ran as an independent candidate in 2016, successfully gaining ballot access in Colorado and garnering a total of 962 votes, which included recorded write-ins, from voters across the nation.

Despite not having achieved his goal of becoming president, supporters are divided between feeling puzzled and open to the idea.

A TikTok comment reads, “It honestly makes sense for Joe Exotic to be the President of America,”with another person agreeing and stating, “I don’t care, I would vote for him.”

One person mentioned a plot twist where Carole Baskin, Exotic’s former industry rival, is also competing in the election.

The Independent reported that Exotic had previously urged Donald Trump to join his presidential campaign. The former president is currently leading the Republican race in the election.

Currently, Exotic is serving a 21-year prison sentence for 17 federal charges of animal abuse and two counts of attempted murder-for-hire. In 2020, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
