The recent collaboration between Fortnite and the Gundam franchise has introduced an exciting mode that immerses players in colossal mecha battles, drawing comparisons to the gameplay found in Titanfall. Despite its thrilling premise, this crossover has surprisingly evaded the spotlight among the player community.
With the arrival of Ice Spice in Fortnite Remix and significant updates to the Chapter 2 loot pool, it comes as no shock that the Gundam collaboration, which launched on November 15, has not garnered as much attention. This under-the-radar anime crossover has seen a lack of player engagement, peaking at a mere 1,241 players since its debut, as reported by Fortnite.GG.
Nevertheless, the modest player numbers might not reflect the true potential of this mode. It combines Fortnite’s signature fast-paced action with the iconic Mobile Suits from Gundam, creating a unique first-person shooter experience reminiscent of Titanfall.
Getting Started with the Gundam Mode
To dive into the Gundam Requiem for Vengeance: Red vs. Blue mode, you can locate it by typing its name into the search bar in the menu, navigating through the Creative Islands section under the Play tab, or using the map code: 7089-7797-5952.
This mode features legendary mechs, including the Gundam EX and the ZAKU II Unidentified Type Solari, each stationed at opposing ends of the battlefield. Players align with either Red, representing the Zeon faction, or Blue, symbolizing the E.F.S.F. (Earth Federation Space Force).
These formidable Mobile Suits come equipped with distinctive abilities, allowing players to unleash Energy Blasters, wield Beam Sabers, and deploy protective Shields—events that merge the worlds of Fortnite and Gundam seamlessly.
Mastering the Mech Piloting Experience
To take control of a mech, players must gather 200 MS Power by capturing reactors spread across the battlefield. The player who accumulates the most power will then spawn inside their team’s mech—provided it is not already in use.
Capturing these critical points requires tactical ground combat, utilizing classic Fortnite weapons and building mechanics to secure your position. If a player is defeated, they will respawn with a replenished arsenal, including popular choices like the Scar Assault Rifle, sniper rifles, and Rocket Launchers—with unlimited ammo for added excitement.
Success in this mode hinges on effective teamwork and intelligent use of Mobile Suits, with the first team to achieve 100 eliminations emerging victorious.
In addition, another new Creative mode, designed as a promotional tool for Kamala Harris’ 2024 Presidential campaign, similarly witnessed a lackluster reception upon its launch.
