Fortnite Announces New Reload LTM That Brings Back Classic POIs

The Reload LTM will reintroduce familiar Fortnite POIs and an updated map featuring iconic destinations such as Tilted Towers. Here is additional information on the upcoming game mode.

On June 22, 2024, Fortnite will release a hotfix update prior to the highly anticipated two-day Metallica Fuel Fire Fury live event. Despite speculation from players that Epic would include files related to the event, leaks have emerged online suggesting that summer update files will also be added to the API.

Nonetheless, Fortnite has recently revealed their newest Limited Time Mode named Reload, which transports players back to the original Chapter 1 map. This mode will also reintroduce fan-favorite locations such as Tilted Towers, Retail Row, and Pleasant Park, as well as some revamped areas like Lil’ Loot Lake, Lazy Laps, and Sandy Sheets.

The teaser for the upcoming mode displays six different locations on a smaller map compared to the current Chapter 5 Battle Royale island. Leaks suggest that this new mode will be a condensed version of the BR mode, featuring faster matches. Additionally, Fortnite’s official post below the teaser thread describes the mode as a “place of high energy”and “forgiveness.”

Despite their hopes for a return of Fortnite OG this year, players are still excited to see the introduction of a completely new LTM that they believe will be a long-term addition. In fact, one player even predicted its arrival, saying, “I knew it was going to be a Mini-BR.”

Another player expressed that this release will address two important issues: providing fans with the original Fortnite experience they have been anticipating, and serving as a valuable testing platform for the eventual move of Fortnite BR to UEFN. Even renowned content creator Nick Eh 30 shared his enthusiasm and commended Epic, stating, “Fortnite is making a strong comeback this season.”

Additional information from iFireMonkey suggests a potential new feature in BR mode where only one member of a squad needs to be alive for the rest of the squad to respawn without needing to be rebooted at a reboot van, similar to the system in place on Rebirth Island in Call of Duty Warzone.
