Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1: How to Level Up Fast

Chapter 5 Season 1 of Fortnite has finally arrived. And with a new season comes a new Battle Pass, so you’ll want to level up fast, getting all of those rewards as quickly as possible. Here’s how to gain XP quickly and unlock rewards here in our guide.

How to Level Up and Get XP Fast in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1

If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking forward to the new cosmetics in Fortnite. Epic never ceases to amaze me with the creative skins, and the Battle Pass is my favorite way to unlock new rewards. However, you’ll need to level up to earn XP and unlock Battle Stars in the game. And with 94 levels in the Battle Pass to cover, you’ll want to know how to complete it quickly.

After spending hundreds of hours playing Fortnite, these are the best, most efficient steps I think you can take to level up at lightning speed:

Complete Quests

Quests are my favorite way to earn XP because aside from being beneficial, they give me something to do while I wait for the circle to close in. There are a few categories to explore, so there’s no shortage of action.

  • Chapter 5 has new Match Quests to get daily bonus XP, and you can select one before the battle bus leaves.
  • Kickstart quests are a great way to get some XP from the get-go.
  • Of course, there are Weekly and Ranked quests rolling out throughout the Season.

Play Official Creative Islands

While it’s possible to earn XP on player-made Creative maps, the best way to guarantee some XP outside of the Battle Royale is in Creative Islands by Epic. With the release of Fortnite LEGO and Rocket Racing right around the corner, there are going to be some amazing new playgrounds to level up quickly. For now, you can explore all other modes in the “By Epic” carousel on the discovery page. My current favorites are Deserted: Domination and Team Rumble.

Complete Milestones

Milestones are goals completed throughout the Season, so they’ll take a bit longer than quests to complete. Regardless, they offer a great boost to your XP goals with 50,000 XP earned overall. Additionally, all Milestones can be completed by simply playing the Battle Royale mode. For example, Eliminate Enemy Players and Outlast Players are Milestones of the game you’ll effortlessly complete.

Reaching Max Level in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1: Expert Tips for In-Match XP Gains

While all of my aforementioned tips are great ways to level up quickly, you can easily earn XP during a match, too. While you’re fighting for survival, there are objectives you can focus on outside of quests to maximize your XP gains. Here’s what to do.

Survive the Storm

You might’ve noticed that the Storm is moving faster in Chapter 5 Season 1, so it’s more important than ever to stay clear of it. Thankfully, you’ll earn XP for each wave of the Storm you survive. If you’re a passive player, this is a great way to ensure easy XP.

Loot Everything

You’ll need to loot things to survive in Fortnite, but did you know you earn XP for everything you loot? For example, ammo caches, food boxes, coolers, and treasure chests all grant you 100 XP each time to open one. So, to maximize some XP easily, I recommend you drop into a bigger POI with plenty of loot. You’ll find the best loot at POIs that feature a gold name during the match.

Eliminate Opponents

You’ll gain 150 XP for each player elimination you get, so the more, the merrier. To easily find enemies, I recommend you drop in the boss locations of Chapter 5 Season 1. Alternatively, the new train oftentimes brings a gunfight. Additionally, I oftentimes patrol the edge of the circle for enemies running from the storm and have success picking them off easily from a vantage point.

Play Unranked

While Fortnite Ranked mode offers a great challenge and something to strive for, Unranked will make achieving quest goals, looting, and all objectives a lot easier. This is because these lobbies have bots and they are a lot less challenging. For instance, I needed to access a weapon mod bench and defeat a big boss NPC. This proved itself incredibly challenging in Ranked mode, but once I hopped into Unranked I did so without a single fight with another player.

That’s how to level up quickly in Chapter 5 Season 1 of Fortnite.
