There is disappointment among Fortnite players regarding the Fallout collaboration, as they believe it was a missed opportunity due to a specific cosmetic not being included.
Before the start of Chapter 5 Season 3, there was a great deal of anticipation surrounding the Fortnite x Fallout collaboration when it was first hinted at. With the recent release of the Fallout TV series, gamers were eagerly anticipating the chance to discover what the collaboration had to offer in the Battle Royale.
At the start of Season 3, Chapter 5, it became known that the collaboration would feature various new skins and a Nuka-Cola, which received high praise from fans for its clever nod to the franchise.
Despite the initial excitement surrounding the collab and high expectations from players, it wasn’t until the midseason rewards were unlocked that they realized there may not be anything more to come. As the end of the season approaches, players have taken to a Reddit thread to express their frustrations with the collab.
T-60 power armor style in Fortnite.
One user pointed out, “It feels like a wasted chance to not have a custom jumpsuit that allows you to modify your vault number.”
Another player expressed, “To be completely honest, I have found the Fallout Collab to be somewhat underwhelming. There are no dwellers or vaults, which is unfortunate. However, the T60, Pip, and bobblehead are still pretty cool, although I expected there to be more.”
A third person joined in, expressing their desire for the vault dwellers’ jumpsuits and criticizing Epic Games for not securing them.
Similarly, another user went as far as drawing a comparison between the Fallout collaboration and the one with Call of Duty, stating: “In Call of Duty, we received the Vault Suits while they got the armor. It would have made more sense to switch, but it is what it is.”
Although it is uncertain if there will be additional Fallout cosmetics in the future, it is not out of the realm of possibility. Previous collaborations in Fortnite have proven that the introduction of new characters or skins in a later wave is feasible. Only time will determine if this will also be the case for Fallout.
