Fortnite Community Criticizes “Absurd” XP Changes in Chapter 6

Fortnite Chapter 6 has rolled out exciting new features, yet not all players are satisfied with the current experience points (XP) system. While most players enjoyed the expedited progression during the shortened Chapter 2 Remix, where leveling up the Battle Pass felt more achievable, the transition to Chapter 6 has left many feeling less enthusiastic.

The brevity of the previous chapter, lasting just one month, provided players with a streamlined Battle Pass with fewer tabs, enhancing their ability to level up quickly. The overall reward system fostered a satisfying sense of achievement. However, with the arrival of Chapter 6’s longer season, the dynamic of progressing through the game has changed significantly, leading to feelings of frustration within the community.

Players Find Chapter 6 Gameplay Feels Like a “Chore”

Epic Games recently announced modifications to Fortnite Crew, highlighting that players could advance multiple Battle Passes irrespective of the game mode they chose. While this appeared beneficial at first glance, many have quickly identified a significant drawback. Players have expressed their discontent on forums, noting that the consolidation of XP into a single “global daily bonus” has effectively reduced the daily achievements across various modes. As a result, the previous enjoyment of completing separate daily quests for an XP boost has diminished.

In addition to this, the implementation of a weekly XP cap across different game modes has contributed to player dissatisfaction. Many gamers have shared their experiences, highlighting that despite spending considerable time in matches and achieving high placements, their leveling progression remains stagnant. One player lamented, “I’ve played about 30 games, won 4-5, came mostly in the top 5 if not second… and am only at level 10. The daily quests are nerfed as well. This is ridiculous.” Another user noted, “I played from 11 PM to 5 AM, going from level 7 to 13; it’s wild compared to last chapter when I would be level 30 within the first few days.”

These frustrations have led to a sentiment among players that Fortnite is becoming more of a chore than an enjoyable experience, with some humorously dubbing it “Chorenite.” This discontent has particularly resonated with casual players who may not have the time to commit to extensive grinding sessions.

As a potential solution for those looking to boost their levels, players are encouraged to focus on completing all weekly challenges and quests to maximize their XP gains.
