Fortnite players are expressing their disappointment with the absence of a specific cosmetic item that would complement one of the skins featured in Chapter 5 Season 4’s Battle Pass.
In Chapter 5, Season 4, Fortnite has once again incorporated a Marvel theme into the game, offering players a range of new skins, cosmetics, POIs, and weapons from the franchise. One of these additions is Mysterio’s skin, which can be obtained through the Battle Pass.
The Battle Pass also contains various cosmetics inspired by the villain, including a Cloak back bling, a Supernatural pickaxe, and an extra Mysterio style in a red color scheme.
Despite the excitement surrounding his Magic Trick emote, players couldn’t help but express disappointment, arguing that it should have also been a glider. In a Reddit thread discussing the traversal emote, one player asked, “Why wasn’t this his glider? Are they stupid?”

Numerous other players in the comments shared the same sentiment that it is illogical for this glider not to be a standalone item, primarily due to the positioning of the character on the green platform.
“One user noted that during this emote, he even stands on a floating platform, leading them to question why it was not made into his glider.”
“It’s unfortunate that they didn’t give him a glider,”one player commented. “It’s disappointing that they didn’t provide each character with a unique glider, like they did in the first Marvel season. I personally use Magneto’s glider for him.”
Many fans were let down by the treatment of a beloved Marvel character. One disappointed fan expressed, “Mysterio was always my top choice for a Spiderman villain when I was younger. When I saw him in the battle pass, I was thrilled!!! The skin is absolutely amazing. However, I do agree that it was a missed chance not to include a glider for him.”
In response to this, a user countered that the platform creates a “low magnetic field that gives the appearance of hovering.”Therefore, it is not suitable for gliding from high altitudes and is essentially comparable to a Roomba, simply moving along the floor.
Despite this, some players have noted that Fortnite’s gliders have been defying “the laws of physics and logic”for quite some time. The Kurama glider from Naruto is a prime example of this and many argue that it would be fitting for Mysterio’s platform to also be a glider in the game.
It is important to note that the rewards for completing Fortnite quests in Chapter 5 of Season 4 have not yet been released. This means that there is a chance that players may receive an extra cosmetic item or glider for their character. However, until the rewards are unlocked, players will need to remain patient.
