At the start of Chapter 5 Season 4, Epic Games introduced a variety of skins inspired by Marvel.
Still, Epic hinted at additional Marvel-related material being released on August 24. Despite the lack of information, trusty sources quickly disclosed the identities of the Marvel figures concealed within Fortnite’s API.
One player was in for a surprise when they unexpectedly came across the unreleased Iron Spider skin while playing a Battle Royale game. To make matters worse, this very skin ended up being the cause of their defeat.

The unexpected early appearance was swiftly shared by Reddit users.
People began to speculate wildly about other possible ways to obtain the skin, with theories ranging from exclusive promotions to purchasing it through comic books. The mystery was finally solved when it was revealed that content creators often receive early access to new skins for promotional reasons.
The screenshot in Fortnite led players to quickly identify the creator as DoriFN from YouTube. Even though there is no content on their channel featuring the Iron Spider, their username made it clear that they were the source of the early reveal.
Regardless of whether it was through their own channel or not, the creator successfully released the Iron Spider skin and the reactions have been varied. While some players have criticized the design for having oversized spider legs, others have praised it and deemed the legs as “sick.”
Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 4 continues to fully embrace its collaboration with Marvel, featuring an array of mythic items and characters from the franchise. Standouts include the highly-anticipated debut of War Machine and Peelverine, both of which are included in the Battle Pass.
