Fortnite Devs Include Easter Egg for Stephen A. Smith’s Viral Drop Spot Clip

In the reveal for Fortnite Reload, a subtle reference is made to Stephen A. Smith’s famous clip where he selected Tilted Towers as his drop location.

Repeatedly, Epic Games has demonstrated their dedication to the Fortnite community by paying close attention. The in-game map is filled with clever Easter eggs, including a player’s viral car crash.

Epic Games seized the opportunity to keep their Easter Egg streak going with the surprise release of Fortnite Reload. This new Resurgence-style mode is set on a map featuring classic locations from the game. If you visit Fortnite’s website, you will see a picture of Tilted Towers with the caption: “Tilted Towers, located in the center of the map, because that’s where the action is.”

Despite its seemingly insignificant nature to those who are not familiar, it actually serves as a reference to a popular clip featuring sports media personality Stephen A. Smith, in which he famously chose Tilted Towers as his preferred drop location in the video game Fortnite.

“Smith asked in March, “Where are the parties at? Where are the parties at? I’m going to Tilted Towers.”

The reference to Smith’s viral choice was well-received by Fortnite players and fans. One commenter enthusiastically stated, “That’s amazing lmao,”while another concurred, “Stephen is spot on, Tilted Towers is the ultimate party spot.”

Following the release of Smith’s selection on the Internet, he made a bid to have his own Fortnite skin. Many expressed their willingness to buy it, but it is yet to be confirmed if it will actually come to fruition.

For a while now, Smith’s extensive knowledge of gaming has been in the spotlight, as fans have asked him to pick between Rust and Nuketown. He has also been questioned about which Pokemon he thinks would come out on top in a 1v1 against LeBron James, as well as his plea to be included in GTA 6.

Despite Smith’s Easter Egg, Fortnite Reload has been a huge success among the community, garnering a higher number of players than all the other in-game modes combined upon its introduction in update 30.20.
