Fortnite Fans Disappointed with Chapter 5 Star Wars Update, Demand Return of 2023 Event Fun

The recent Star Wars update in Fortnite is receiving criticism from players who are nostalgic for the enjoyment the event provided in 2023.

Once again, Fortnite and Star Wars have joined forces to offer players a collaborative in-game event. However, this time, the spotlight is on the LEGO Fortnite mode, featuring fresh Rebel Adventure goals, a mini-pass, and additional elements. As a result, Battle Royale has taken a back seat.

The Battle Royale island currently contains five Imperial Roadblocks, two Mythic weapons (the E-11 Blaster and the Wookie Bowcaster), and Darth Vader’s Lightsaber. However, unlike Chapter 4 Season 2 in 2023, Chapter 5’s Star Wars event does not feature any lightsabers or force abilities.

As a consequence, the community is expressing dissatisfaction with the update and yearns for the return of the enjoyable experience they had during the 2023 event. Epic has introduced the latest crossover through three separate game modes: LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival, resulting in a shortage of content in the game’s primary Battle Royale mode.

Despite players’ anticipation for the return of lightsabers and force skills, they were let down when the 29.40 update did not include these features. As a result, they drew comparisons to last year’s Star Wars Day update, which introduced popular weapons and gear like the Kinetic Blade and ODM Gear.

On the subreddit post shared by a user, players expressed their dissatisfaction, with one player stating, “The Star Wars event from last year was far superior.”

A few players have expressed their disappointment with this year’s event, stating that it “feels like a downgrade.”They also mentioned that although the Force powers were sometimes frustrating to play against, they are really missing them this year. While they appreciate seeing Darth Vader and Chewbacca on the map, they can’t help but wish that the Padawan lightsabers had been brought back, which they believe would have been amazing.

As stated by another user, “The force seems less powerful this time.”Despite the backlash towards the Star Wars update, players are commending the LEGO Fortnite crossover update and its accompanying mini battle pass, which brings fresh content to the game.
