For a while now, rumors have been announcing that a first-person mode is in the works for Fortnite. Here is everything we currently know about this mode.
Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has managed to remain extremely popular while other competitors have declined in notoriety. This is partly due to the many crossovers introduced over the years, as well as the constant new gameplay added with each season and chapter.
Epic Games has kept its Battle Royale engaging with new content and different game modes, but one innovation that fans are still waiting for is a first-person mode, which has been widely rumored for several years.
Here’s everything we know about Fortnite’s FPS mode.
When will Fortnite’s FPS mode be released?
Fortnite developers have remained tight-lipped on the exact release date of the FPS mode, but they confirmed its arrival in 2024 during the State of Unreal 2024 presentation at GDC 2024.

Leaks on Fortnite’s FPS mode
Although details surrounding Fortnite’s first-person mode are limited, players have still received a few clues about this highly anticipated mode. The first of these teasers came from HYPEX in 2022, which claimed that early work on this feature had begun.
FIRST PERSON CAMERA IN FORTNITE 🔥This update Epic began working on some stuff about first person camera mode but there’s no other info about it at the moment as it looks like it’s still in early development. Would work REALLY well for the Zero Build Modes 👀 pic.twitter.com/PIRRmdLyp0

We then got our first clear look at what this mode could look like when it arrived during the launch of the Fortnite 23.30 update. Clips have started to emerge of players aiming with the sights of weapons that usually remain in third person.
Although this is just a bug, leaker Shiina claimed that “the final product probably shouldn’t differ much.”
