Fortnite Godzilla Event Introduces Kong, But with a Twist

In the latest Fortnite Titan Takedown event, players will have the exciting chance to encounter not just Godzilla, but also Kong. However, there’s a significant catch that players should be aware of.

On January 17, Godzilla made a spectacular entrance onto the Fortnite map as part of the highly anticipated Titan Takedown event. During select matches, a portal opens on the island, allowing the first player to leap through to transform into the iconic King of Monsters, unleashing powerful abilities to wreak havoc on other players.

Prior to the event’s launch, there was much buzz surrounding Kong’s potential involvement, which sparked excitement over a possible epic showdown between the two titans. The addition of a Kong skin only intensified these discussions, fueling anticipation among the fanbase.

The Myth of Godzilla vs. Kong

However, following the event’s initiation, fans found that the rumors surrounding a titanic clash were only partially correct. While Kong does appear in the event, he does not engage in any battle against Godzilla.

Kong makes a brief appearance at the beginning of a match while players are still aboard the Battle Bus. He emerges from a rift and calls down Monarch Supply Drops to assist with the fight against Godzilla before promptly returning through the rift. This means that players can only catch a glimpse of him without any direct interaction.

This may come as a disappointment to those hoping for a cinematic clash between Godzilla and Kong in Fortnite. Nevertheless, there’s a silver lining: witnessing Kong’s arrival at the start guarantees that Godzilla will also emerge later in the match.

According to leakers, Godzilla has approximately a 20% chance of appearing, while Kong boasts a 25% likelihood. Notably, even if Godzilla appears alone, Kong’s appearance is an assurance that a boss battle will ensue, giving players a chance to prepare adequately.

Considering that Kong has already made a noteworthy impact in Fortnite—both as a cosmetic skin and within this event—it’s plausible that he may also return as a boss later in the season. Such a development would resonate well with fans eager for more collaborative events.

As of now, these possibilities remain unconfirmed, so players will need to stay tuned for further updates.
