Epic Games has introduced a fresh skin for the iconic DC character Harley Quinn in Fortnite Chapter 6. However, this new addition may not align with what players truly desire.
Launched in the in-game store on December 22, the Karuta Harley Quinn skin can be purchased individually for 1,500 V-Bucks or as part of the Feudal Gotham Bundle. This bundle also features a new Ninja Knight Batman skin, a Harlequin Otsuchi pickaxe, and a Ninja Bat Vanish emote.
The Karuta skin showcases a design reminiscent of existing outfits like Lil Monster XOXO and Always Fantabulous. These styles draw inspiration from Margot Robbie’s portrayal of Harley in the Suicide Squad films, though this particular iteration remains distinct.
Harley Quinn was originally created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm in the 1990s for Batman: The Animated Series, donning her signature red and black jester outfit. Unfortunately, that homage is absent from Fortnite. Despite community requests, Epic has yet to express any intentions of including Harley’s classic costume in the game, prompting many fans to consider the latest release somewhat whimsical, given the vast array of source material available.
A Desire for Vintage Designs
The sentiment among players is clear: “I want the jester suit so bad,” one prominent comment on a Reddit thread expresses. This call resonates with many others, who echoed the sentiment that it feels unjust for a classic skin to remain absent from the game.

Although the discussion centered around Harley Quinn, it soon expanded to cover the broader spectrum of classic DC character skins that remain unrepresented in Fortnite. One user expressed their longing for vintage Batman skins, specifically citing the 1960s versions of Batman and Robin, famously played by Adam West and Burt Ward.
So, what accounts for this inconsistent representation? It might be attributed to Epic’s strategy of prioritizing characters with broader appeal. Unlike the retro-inspired skins seen for characters from Marvel, including Blade and several X-Men, Harley Quinn has not donned her original jester costume in any official media for many years. Consequently, fans may need to patiently await possible future releases of their favorite classic skins.
