Epic Games has responded to fan feedback by significantly increasing the spawn rate of the Isle of Doom. The good news is that this spawn rate is expected to keep rising.
Doom’s Island was first introduced in Fortnite’s 31.10 update, enabling players to embody Doom’s Chosen. Initially, however, the spawn rate was just 5%, leading to complaints from players about the difficulty in accessing it.
Although Epic temporarily improved the Ultra Doom mythic’s chances to 12%, this enhancement reverted back to 5% shortly after.
Fortunately, players now have even greater opportunities to discover the Isle of Doom, as Epic Games recently announced a new spawn rate of 20%.

This new rate will continue to rise incrementally each day leading up to the version 31.20 release next week. Although the exact daily increase remains unclear, players have until September 17, 2024, to obtain this mythic.
The online community has reacted positively, with many players still eager to find the isle. One player exclaimed, “W FORTNITE, THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO US.”
Another fan expressed appreciation for Epic’s engagement with the community, stating, “we LOVE it when you guys are actively listening and actually care about our opinions.”
Fans have also voiced hopes that this increased spawn rate will not be temporary: “Let’s keep this for a while,” one commenter said, wishing for a permanent 20% base rate.
In addition to changes to the Isle of Doom, Epic Games also implemented significant adjustments to mythics like Shuri’s Claws and War Machine’s Hover Jet.
