A well-known leaker for Fortnite, Shiina, has disclosed that Epic Games’ battle royale game may potentially implement a weapon wheel system similar to GTA by the end of 2024.
For a while now, the user interface UI in Fortnite has been a source of disagreement among players. A lot of people have complained about its cluttered and perplexing design, especially since the 30.30 update altered the Locker UI and mantle UI.
Despite some criticism, many have expressed that the redesigned layout poses challenges in terms of finding content and managing loadouts. Additionally, players have voiced their concern that the UI appears to prioritize Fortnite Creative modes over the traditional battle royale experience.
Despite these frustrations, the announcement of an upcoming weapon wheel has been met with enthusiasm. On X, Shiina shared an image of the purportedly upcoming weapon wheel and detailed the modifications.

The person responsible for the leak has stated that the revised weapon wheel is expected to be released sometime between October and December. The update will also include highly anticipated additions such as a customized UI system, an enhanced HUD controller, and new options for “Visualize Sound Effects.”
Although the leak discusses three modifications, gamers are particularly enthusiastic about the upcoming custom weapon wheel UI system. One player exclaims, “This is a huge win! Especially the UI system!”
Some people compared the redesign to GTA’s weapon wheel, making comments like, “Fortnite is attempting to incorporate a GTA-style gun wheel”and even referring to it as “GTA 7.”This type of weapon wheel is prominently featured in GTA 5, but numerous shooter games today also utilize a similar interface.
This marks the initial occasion in Fortnite’s existence where alterations are made to the weapon layout UI. Although the battle royale was launched in 2017, the developers have solely made modifications to the Weapon Pick-up UI and implemented the Weapon Mod UI in Chapter 5.
The development of Fortnite shows no signs of slowing down. These updates demonstrate the game’s commitment to keeping its community involved and responding to player input.
