Fortnite Players Confused by Changes to Captain Jonesy Skin on Nintendo Switch

Those who are fans of Fortnite and play the battle royale on their Nintendo Switch while sporting the Captain Jonesy skin may notice a slight discrepancy.

The Chapter 5 Season 4 Battle Pass features the Captain Jonesy skin, which bears a striking resemblance to the iconic Captain America superhero. However, unlike Captain America, Captain Jonesy wears glasses. This begs the question, why?

Unless you’re playing Fortnite on your Nintendo Switch, he’s not supposed to wear glasses. Recently, a Fortnite player posted a screenshot of their in-game Captain Jonesy skin, which inexplicably had glasses on.

The poster responded to the comment by sharing a few additional images as evidence that no editing had taken place. This strange occurrence was not exclusive to the poster, as other players also reported experiencing the same issue.

Another person responded saying they were experiencing the same issue, even though their friends never saw them wearing glasses while using the skin. Interestingly, they also mentioned, “lately I haven’t been able to see them anymore, it’s really strange.”

As numerous inquiries poured in regarding the glasses and the reason behind their character’s black outline, the poster confessed that their Switch was a first generation. “To be honest, she’s barely functioning,”they quipped.

Despite this being a plausible explanation, other fans also attempted to uncover the reason for this phenomenon. One comment suggested that it could be due to the fact that the character was using the same hairstyle as Vengeance Jones, and that somehow the hair and glasses were linked.

According to the source, the Nintendo Switch may be experiencing a glitch where it is unable to properly load assets. This could be causing the glasses, which are meant to be hidden, to be visible to certain players.

Interestingly, a different fan also experienced this problem while playing on their mobile phone. They stated, “In the next game I played, his glasses disappeared,”and found it to be a strange glitch.
